Install the Document Manager Add-in for Microsoft Office

Before you can save to or load from TeamForge, you must install the TeamForge Document Manager Add-in for Microsoft Office.

Check with your CollabNet TeamForge administrator to get the CollabNet TeamForge Document Manager Add-in for Microsoft Office.

The TeamForge Document Manager Add-in for Microsoft Office requires one of the following:

Operating system Applications
Microsoft Office XP with Service Pack 3 on Windows XP or Windows 2000. One or more of the following Microsoft Office XP products:
  • Word 2002
  • Excel 2002
  • Project 2002
  • PowerPoint 2002
Microsoft Office 2003 with Service Pack 1 on Windows XP or Windows 2. One or more of the following Microsoft Office 2003 products:
  • Word 2003
  • Excel 2003
  • Project 2003
  • PowerPoint 2003.

You will also need the Microsoft .NET Framework Version 1.1 or later. You can download this at no charge from Microsoft.

  1. Ensure that you have the Microsoft .NET Framework installed.
  2. Copy the TeamForge Document Manager Add-in for Microsoft Office files from the location provided by your TeamForge administrator. The add-in files are delivered in a single .msi file. Save the .msi file anywhere on your hard drive.
  3. Launch the .msi file to begin the installation process.
  4. In the Setup Wizard, click Next until you reach the Select Installation Folder window.
  5. Select the directory where you want to install the add-in.
  6. Choose whether you want the add-in to be available to just you, or to anyone using your computer.
  7. Click Next until the installation process begins. When the installation is complete, the Installation Complete window appears.
  8. Click Close to exit.
The CollabNet TeamForge Document Manager Add-in for Microsoft Office is now installed.
